Truewick is one of Sprout's own products. It came out of a problem the team kept seeing with founders: market research takes weeks, and even then it is hard to tell whether an idea is strong or just exciting. Truewick was built to give founders a clear, checkable answer before they spend money on engineering.
Truewick: validate a startup idea in minutes
A Sprout product used by 1,000+ founders that scores a startup idea across ten dimensions, benchmarks it against 6,000+ YC companies, and cites its evidence.

Founders spend weeks on market research and still are not sure whether an idea is worth building. Sprout wanted a tool that answers that question quickly, with evidence a founder can check.
Sprout built Truewick, an AI market research and validation tool. It scores an idea out of 100 across ten dimensions, benchmarks it against 6,000+ Y Combinator companies, and gathers real complaint quotes, competitor pricing, and demand signals from the web, each with a source link.
More than 1,000 founders, from Y Combinator and other accelerators across the US, UK, Canada and Pakistan, have used Truewick to test an idea or research their market. It takes a founder from a rough idea to a scored, evidence-backed picture of the market in minutes, and Sprout uses it to validate client ideas before committing to a build.
Background
What we built
Truewick scores an idea across ten dimensions, including problem validity, timing, competition, market size, and go-to-market, with a written rationale for each. It reports where the idea sits against 6,000+ Y Combinator companies as a percentile, and gathers cited evidence from the web. It also runs synthetic user interviews, live market research, and an MVP health check that scans a live product for bugs, security gaps, and performance problems.
Outcome
More than 1,000 founders, from Y Combinator and other accelerators across the US, UK, Canada and Pakistan, have used Truewick to test an idea or research their market. They use it to decide what to build before they build it, and to walk into investor conversations with evidence instead of guesses. Sprout uses it in-house at the start of every engagement, so the first sprint goes into the version of the idea most likely to work. It is free to start at truewick.app.
We built Truewick because founders kept asking us whether their idea was worth building. More than a thousand founders have used it since, and it is where every Sprout project starts.
